As a sixteen year-old high school student who needed some spending cash, I answered a help wanted sign at the local flower shop. I didn't know it then, but those two years of school nights and weekends planted the seed of what has become one of the great passions of my life. After graduating from college and getting a sensible job in my chosen profession as a city planner, another help wanted sign in a flower shop beckoned, and my passion for flowers was rediscovered. 

I worked a few holidays, took a class, covered some weekends at the shop. In 2001, my friend was getting married and I offered to do her flowers. My wedding floral design career was born! Over the next two years, I designed more weddings, received referrals from friends and guests, and had done several weddings when I decided to do my own (my coordinator begged me not to!).  After the wonderful time I had during those few days, going back to the "sensible" career started to make less sense. Within six months, I launched The Spiraled Stem Floral Design and haven't looked back! 

I am now entering my fourth year in the wedding and event business, and I have been truly blessed to be able to bring beauty and life to over 100 fabulous wedding celebrations in Southern California. One of my favorite parts of my job is that my brides are amazing women from all different backgrounds and walks of life whom I might have already been friends with if our paths had crossed sooner. With every wedding that I book, every squeal of delight when I deliver the bouquets, every hand-written note from a gracious bride or a delighted mother, and every referral I receive from a past client, I feel that I have gained a new friend. I am still captured by the romance and emotion of each wedding I am a part of, and if I have the time, I am known to hang out to see the bride walk down the aisle and into the arms of the one they love. I even try to snap a few pictures to send to the happy couple after the wedding!

The floral designs I create may be captivating and help to create a distinct event that will be remembered by all who were there, but they are merely the punctuation for the true meaning of the day, the joining of two lives together in love. I truly love what I do, and my clients see that in me from the first inquiry all the way through the final thank you after the day has come and gone. I enjoy creating designs that reflect each of my client's personalities, vision, and most importantly, love for each other. My clients choose me because they trust me, not only for my artistic ability but for my professionalism and responsiveness. I am humbled by their confidence in me and look forward to counting each future client as a new friend.
